Hiking

Ok, I have a lot of catching up to do!! I'll try to get some of this done..... Niki came to visit us for Christmas! She shocked us all by showing up at the door the day BEFORE she was supposed to get here!! No wonder she was not answering her phone that day.... :-) We were so glad that she got here safely though! The next day I (amanda) took my 2nd ACT test. BTW I got my results early and I got a 21, not bad but if I want to get accepted into one of the ultrasound schools I need to get a slightly better grade. But God is in control right?? So all I need to do is study insanely and leave the rest up to Him. The day after the ACT was Sunday so we went to Church. After church, we went to a lake nearby where the have hiking trails. We love to go there! Here are some pictures :
Bench jumping!!!
Hehe!!This was pretty funny..... Niki the boys and I went looking for Becca and Jo who we thought were lost (of course they weren't) and so to get back we ended up doing some serious rock climbing. Ok, maby not serious rock climbing but it was fun, and we all made it safety! This picture was taken with a tripod at the bottom of the ravine.
Becca and the fellas at the creek.

We had a bunch of fun that day! Well I hope you have a great day!

Williamson County Orchestra!!!!!
On Saturday evening we went to the Williamson County Symphony Orchestra's Christmas Concert!! We all had such a great time!!! They were so good and the composer did a wonderful job at arranging the music! My whole family loves music, but I live off of it, and I was ecstatic afterwards! I had the best time at the concert! They played for 2 1/2 hours and the crowd was loving it so much that the ended up playing 2 extra song!!! We had to leave at the beginning of the 2nd extra song so I'm not sure if they played more or not... Any way here are some pictures and some video:
The fellas playing with the phone before the concert started.

Abby ready for music!!

the Orchestra!

I don't know about y'all, but I've been singing Christmas carols since before Thanksgiving! ;-) Here is some of the music from Saturday!!(i hope it works!)

Let me know if they don't work, and I'll try to fix it! The bounciness of the taping is from John trying to see the stage :-) Poor guy he is still too little to see, so he was sitting on my lap trying to see around people! Merry (early) Christmas!!!

Homestead!!!!!!!!

The day after Thanksgiving we went to Homestead!!! Homestead is a place in Waco, TX were home schooled families life in a close knit community serving Christ. One of their goals is to turn the hearts of the children toward Christ and their families. Their community is a lot like some of the Amish communities. They are very practical people that love the Lord and want to get back to the basics of life. Here is their website if you are interested : http://www.homesteadcraftfair.com/ We all loved visiting there! This was our second year there and (again) it was rainy and cold!! But we still had a great time!!! Just so you know we would like to learn how to do a lot of the things they were doing some examples are: Farming, soap making, cheese making, bee keeping and so much more!!! Here are some of the pictures: John bundled up for the cold :-)

Abby really enjoyed the puppies at the petting zoo!!

We were able to watch this sheep that hadn't been sheared in 2 years get shorn!! Of course Mom wanted to take the sheep home but it wouldn't fit in the van.:-)

Every kid in the petting zoo wanted to take this puppy home! It was just too cute!!!

*sigh* I wish we were back at the farm so I could have my goats again!

One of the many beautiful views!

It was so cold!!! We had just eaten and I had Jesse on my lap and Becca was shivering!

Some of the black smithing work. Incredible!
