Happy Thanksgiving preperation!!

I am going to post three or more blogs this week because so much happened! A thanksgiving tradition in our family is to make a paper tree and put one paper leaf (with a thing we are thankful for written on it) per person per day on the tree. So this year we decided to change it a little and use real leafs (laminated) and use a dry eraser to write what we are thankful for on it. Here is a picture of the leafs before lamination:
And here is a picture of the tree with its first leafs: Cooking for thanksgiving. Here are some apple pies that were made 2 days before(thanksgiving), and the chicken pot pie we had Tuesday night for dinner:

The pot-pie looks kinda bad in the picture, but don't worry it was more than delicious!!!

Busy life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever feel like you are in fast forward??? That has been my family this week! Expecialy me!(amanda) Which is partially why I am so late on this blog! Ok, last week... hmm..... On Monday we went to the annual BLORA drive through lights! It was so much fun!!! Here are some pics(sorry if they are blurry):

Grandpa this one is for you, it reminded us kids of all the times we played pool down in the basement! :-) Sorry it is so blurry!!!(we were driving when I took the picture)

I don't know if you can see this or not but this is a doe right in front of the lights!! there were three of them at first but by the time I got the camera ready there was only one...and of course I had the camera on the wrong setting. :-(

Last week our Christmas cactus started to bloom and it is beautiful! Instead of having a Christmas cactus, we will have a Thanksgiving cactus!!

As I am getting ready to apply for colleges there is so much to do! One of the requirements for Temple College is that I take a BLS ( basic life support, it is alot like CPR but a bit different)course and pass the test with at least 87% correct. Last Friday I took the 4 hr course from 8am-11:30am(they cut it a little short). By God's grace I passed the test with 100% correct! That's one step down!! We then had the Dawson family over for lunch, and went to our monthly 4-H meeting. Yay for 4-H!!!!!!

All this week we have been preparing the house for the market. Some of that included: caulking, and painting door frames, re-caulking the tub, re-caulking the windows, (i know a lot of caulking!) going through stuff and seeing what we can get rid of, packing up unused stuff...... and the list goes on....! Mom and Dad want the house to look near perfect! Any way I was packing up some stuff in my room and noticed Mouse my kitty was missing! Here is a picture of where she was:

And she did NOT want to get out!! :-) Well I guess that is all for now! This is Mandy signing off!!!

P.S. Have a great Thanksgiving and remember to be thankful for ALL you have!!!!

Time flys...

Wow! I had forgotten that I had even started this blog!! Well, I'll forget about catching up and I'll start with this week. Last weekend we had a campfire outside on our porch and yes, that is Jo, burning his math book from last year. :-)

On Monday we went to a resturant and had a great time! Unfortunatly the restraunt we went to had unshelled peanuts and some how a shell war started! Lets just say that Mom, and Amanda were not too pleased!

This is a lizard that was shedding it's skin!

One of Jo's many trapped squirrels that we released at our church on Thursday...

A view from the Churches back lot.

Saint and Manda. No, his eyes do not normally glow; it was the flash!

Ok, that all for now!!
